Six years in prison for dangerous driver

19 year-old uninsured driver Tobias Pearce who was convicted of causing death by dangerous driving at Wolverhampton Crown Court last month has today been sentenced to six years in Prison following a horrific car crash in the early hours of July 12 last year.

Pearce, who was uninsured and had never taken driving lessons was showing off to friends when he hit a Honda Civic whilst travelling at almost twice the speed limit in a bus lane on Lincoln Street, off Wednesfield Road. 21 year-old Jamel Thomas, a passenger in the Honda was thrown through the window of the car and died instantly.

Twelve months after the accident, tributes including flowers and a large drawing remain at the spot where Thomas was killed.
