Wednesfield Taekwondo Club

Interested in taking up a martial art? Wednesfield has it’s very own Taekwondo Club and they’re looking for members aged 5 and up.

Taekwondo is a martial art and the national sport of South Korea – it is also the world’s most popular martial art in terms of the number of practitioners. As with many other arts, it combines combat techniques, self-defense, sport, exercise, meditation and philosophy. ‘Gyeorugi’ a type of sparring has been an Olympic event since 2000.

Wednesfield Taekwondo club train at the Jenny Lee Centre, Lakefield Road, Wednesfield on Monday & Thursday nights from 6:00pm – 9:00pm with each ability level training for 1 hour. The club is part of the Taekwond Association of Great Britain (TAGB) and is looking for members of all abilities aged 5 and above.

Instructor Mike Jones is a 5th Degree Black Belt and Qualified Umpire & Referee. Mike began studying Taekwondo in September 1985, training under Master Paul Donnelly at the Wolverhampton Club, before opening his first club in 1992.

Monday:
Beginners 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Intermediates 7:00pm – 8:00pm
Black Belts (1st Monday of month) 8:00pm – 9:00pm

Thursday:
Beginners 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Intermediates 7:00pm – 8:00pm
Sparring 8:00pm – 9:00pm
