21 year-old Wednesfield man arrested on suspicion of taxi robberies

Detectives in Wolverhampton are investigating two robberies on taxi drivers in the Eastfield area over the last few days.

The first incident took place on 5 January at 9.30pm in St Giles Crescent in Eastfield where a 38-year-old male taxi driver had cash, a sat nav system and a ring stolen.

The second incident occurred at 10pm last night (Thursday) also in St Giles Crescent where a second taxi driver, a 46-year-old man, had the same items stolen as the previous incident.

A 21-year-old Wednesfield man was arrested in Eastfield on suspicion of both robberies. He is currently helping police with their enquiries.
