Police are appealing for witnesses in an attempt to identify five suspects in the recent Duke Street assault in Wednesfield.

Detectives will revisit Duke Street, near Pinfold Gardens  late tomorrow night and into the early hours of Sunday morning two weeks after a 34-year-old man was seriously assaulted, in attempt to identify potential witnesses.

Two men, aged 20 and 21, were arrested on 6 April in connection with the inquiry and bailed pending further inquiries. Officers will be at the crime scene, where they will be handing out leaflets containing CCTV images of five additional people they want to speak to in connection with investigation.

All five are being treated as suspects at this stage.

Detective Constable Jim Connell, from Force CID, said: “The identities of the three men and two women in these CCTV images are crucial to this investigation.

“I would urge anyone who has any information about who these people are, or indeed anyone who may have witnessed the incident, to contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should contact DC Jim Connell at Force CID on 0345 113 5000 (ext 7889 6481).
