Changes to local Bus services

Bus services in Wednesfield will see changes to routes, timetables and numbers next month

There will be changes to routes, timetables and numbers for bus services in Wednesfield from Sunday 24th July, 2011.

These changes affect services across Wolverhampton and West Walsall  and coincide with the opening of Wolverhampton’s new state-of-the-art £22.5 million bus station.

The changes come after operator Centro undertook a large review of their services which included a public consultation.

Key for operators – ARR = Arriva, DIA = Diamond, MID = Midland and NXWM = National Express West Midlands

Upcoming changes to bus services (Sunday 24th July, 2011)

25 (NXWM)
Wolverhampton to Bilston via Three Tuns, Wobaston, Wednesfield & Willenhall
New service providing links to New Cross Hospital. Partly covers old 525/698 routes.

25E (MID)
New Cross Hospital – Bilston
Evening & Sunday service.

28 (NXWM)
Wolverhampton to Willenhall via New Invention
New service providing local links to New Cross Hospital and replacing parts of 528 and 369 services.

28E (MID)
Evening and Sunday service following route of 28 between Wolverhampton & New Invention.

57 (NXWM)
New service replacing 574 and 575. Provides links to New Cross Hospital for Priestfield, Stow Heath, Low Hill, Wednesfield and Willenhall.

59 (NXWM)
Wolverhampton to Ashmore Park
Replaces the current 559 service – no route change, more buses.

69 (NXWM)
Walsall to Wolverhampton via Wednesfield & New Cross Hospital
Replaces the current 369 service and extends to Wolverhampton (markets) from Coppice Farm instead of Willenhall. New Invention and Willenhall now linked by 28 and 41.

89 (NXWM)
Wolverhampton to Walsall via New Cross Hospital
Renumbered from 908. No long goes into hospital grounds to improve reliability and to give a quicker route.

Saturday 16th July – 9am to 3pm – NWM bus, Queen Square, Wolverhampton city centre
Tuesday, 19th July, 9.30pm to 3pm – Market stall at Wednesfield Market, High Street
Saturday 23rd July, 9am to 3pm – NWM bus, Queen Square, Wolverhampton city centre
