A fun day in Wednesfield has raised more than £1,260 for Help for Heroes.

The event, at Moathouse Lane on Sunday October 9, 2011, was organised by Wednesfield and Fallings Park Local Neighbourhood Partnership and was enjoyed by hundreds of local people.

Activities ranged from bric a brac stalls to Zumba dance demonstrations and performances from the 21st Wolverhampton Marching Band and the Grey Coll Pipe band. There were also bouncy castles and a bucking bronco for people to have a go on.

All funds raised on the day went to Help for Heroes and Ken Cook from the charity collected a cheque from Lisa Lee on behalf of the Moathouse Lane shopkeepers today (Tuesday October 18, 2011).

Simon Hamilton from the Wednesfield and Fallings Park Local Neighbourhood Partnership said: “The event took place only with the help of the local shopkeepers, particularly Lisa Lee, and has raised a considerable amount for Help for Heroes.

“I would like to thank the local community for their support on the day and for their generosity for this worthwhile cause.”
