Police appeal to robbery victim

Detectives investigating a robbery in Wednesfield on 25th November are trying to trace a victim.

Detectives investigating a robbery in Wednesfield on Friday, 25th November are trying to trace a second victim who has not yet come forward to speak to police.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after the incident was reported to them over the weekend.

A 19-year-old man called officers after he was assaulted and robbed while riding along Colman Avenue on his moped at around 10:45pm.

He was attacked by three men who hit him once with a baseball bat and got away with a mobile phone and cash. He was not seriously injured.

The offenders were all wearing dark coloured clothing and had their faces covered.

The victim reports seeing a second person being attacked by the same three men a short distance away from where he was assaulted.

Detective Constable Martin Pickersgill, from Wolverhampton CID, said: “We are very keen to hear from this second victim primarily to ensure he is OK.

“We know he was punched and kicked by these three men and he was last seen walking along Colman Avenue.

“I would ask anyone else who was in the area at the time and who saw what happened, or who may have seen the three offenders fleeing the scene, to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
