Calling anyone with a camera! St Thomas’ Church invited you to submit a photo for their 2013 Wednesfield Calendar.

Calling anyone with a camera! St Thomas’ Church invited you to submit a photo for their 2013 Wednesfield Calendar.

Following the sell-out success of the 2012 Wednesfield Calendar, St Thomas’ Church is running a photography competition to generate the pictures for the eagerly awaited 2013 calendar. Whether you’re an enthusiastic amateur, budding professional or established photographer, we want your pictures! Could you produce a photograph that shows Wednesfield at its best, an image that people will want to look at for a month? Could you capture Wednesfield in the sunshine, in the snow, at Christmas or on market day? Could you celebrate one of the town’s best known parts or reveal one of its forgotten corners?

All entries must be received before the closing date of 31st July 2012 when they will be judged by Steph Jennings, award-winning co-founder of wv11.co.uk, Steve Elliot, professional photographer and the Rev’d Nick Watson, Team Rector at St Thomas’ Church, Wednesfield. The judges will only be considering images that have been taken in and around Wednesfield that don’t include people…we’re looking for great shots of the town, not its gorgeous people!

Talking about the competition, the Reverend Nick Watson said, “We’re looking forward to sorting through some great photographs of Wednesfield and hope that entrants make choosing the thirteen images we need for the calendar a very difficult task!”

How to submit your photos

Images can be submitted electronically in jpeg format (no smaller than 300dpi, no larger than 5mb) to info@wv11.co.uk or in hard copy to St Thomas’ Church, Wednesfield. Please make sure emails include the words ‘Calendar Competition’ in the subject line, envelopes are marked ‘Calendar Competition’ and that each image is clearly labeled with your name, contact details and a description of where it was taken.

For full terms and conditions of entry, please email wednesfieldteam@gmail.com or pop into the church on a Wednesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday morning.

All proceeds from the sale of the calendars will go towards the St Thomas’ Church and Centre appeal which aims to fund urgent repairs to the church building including those needed to restore the church clock, and to develop the old Wednesfield Library building as a new church and community centre.
