Free video production course for 16-24 year olds

Media Cove are running a free video production course for 16-24 year-olds who are currently not in education, employment or training .

When?

We are hoping to start on Monday Thursday 12th July. The programme will be Monday-Wednesday, 10am-4pm. The programme will end in August.

Who?

We are looking for young people aged 16-24 who are currently not in education, employment or training or are uncertain about their next step come September. You need to be based in Wolverhampton.

What?

Over the six weeks, you will take part in the following activities:

  • The Olympic Film Relay Challenge – you will work in teams of four to create your own short films, taking it in turns in the various film crew roles (hence the relay!)
  • Film Skills Training – the first two weeks will be geared towards building and developing your practical film making skills, including: camera operation, pre-production and planning, editing using Final Cut Pro and screenwriting
  • Creative Arts workshops – we have planned a few “taster” style workshops in disciplines such as graphic design, web design and performing arts
  • Arts Award Bronze accreditation – this is a nationally recognised level 1 qualification. You will complete 4 arts orientated modules as part of the Arts Award portfolio. It is a fun and enjoyable qualification aimed at inspiring you to get involved in the arts.

Where?

The course will run at City of Wolverhampton College, Paget Road Campus. You will receive £10.00 per week to help with travel expenses (based on full attendance).
