Paper kids from Stubby Lane Costcutter have started a letter writing campaign to their former customers after losing their jobs.

Paper kids from Stubby Lane Costcutter have started a letter writing campaign to their former customers after losing their jobs. The letter (pictured) has been distributed around the area . It reads

“LOCAL PAPER KIDS SACKED!!!

Good Morning

Could I take a few seconds of your time please to read this note as it is very important! I have been your paper delivery person for quite some time and I have tried my best to make sure that  I have given you a prompt reliable service, in all weather conditions, but unfortunately I find myself out of work because the new owners of the Costcutter have taken the decision to sack all the paper delivery people with no explanation, or good reason was given us? Could I please ask for your support with this matter and maybe would you consider cancelling your papers and purchasing your papers elsewhere?

Many Thanks

The Local Paper Kids”

Parental Support

Nicky Denston the parent that contacted us about this has been using her own facebook profile to raise support for them, her status reads:

“Charl got back to a text sacking her & all the other paper kids from their jobs at Costcutter in Stubby Lane. New owners have sacked all the kids & brought their own kids in from their former shop the kids are starting a campaign as these are the kids who have gone out in all weathers delivering the papers earning their own money & setting a good example to other kids…”

Boycott the shop, as this will hurt their earnings in the same way as it has the kids.”Totally selfish” of the new owners, shame on you!

It just goes to show the integrity of these shop owners. Boycott the shop is the best idea, lets c how many people do tho. If people allow it then tomorrow it will be your kids.

Just been down to Costcutter and they will no longer be delivering the papers, the Express and Star will be delivered by the express and star ppl but the morning papers will no longer be delivered. I got the impression they will no longer be selling papers but dont quote me on that. There are 2 sides to every story but it would seem to be a victory for the paper kids
