Dear All WV11 Residents,

I am proposing to open a business in Wednesfield but would like to hear what you people think which would work best.

Idea 1: To have a Go Karting Centre open with Mini Moto track for all enthusiasts and people who would like a good night out.

Idea 2: To open a Pool, Snooker & Darts Centre at Bentley Bridge and have a bar in there too. Also there would be a space for Computer Gamers who do online LAN Gaming.

Both i think would be a good idea but i am stricken on which one to do.

Can you help?? If so comment and let me hear what you people have to say. At the moment this is in the planning stage and capturing the costs.

I think I prefer the second idea, mainly as I think I'd have more regular use or it. I'd love to try Go Karting but it's a day out kinda activity, where as pool/darts and bar would be a more regular relaxing night out pursuit..

..But that's just my opinion for what it's worth!

Why not combine the lot, go kart track down stairs with everything else above it

My cousin and I are quite good in the computer industry and are thinking of the old job centre in Wednesfield and turning that into a computer build and repair shop where we will sell computer related products and offer advise to people with problems (computer related).

Will that be a good move????

I used to be in the same industry and to be honest its a lot of hard work for very little profit as there is so much competition and most people tend to use mobile pc repairs as it saves them lugging everything into a shop. Maybe if this was combined with an internet cafe it could work as I think there is a real need for one of these in Wednesfield and would give kids something to do but this would mean opening late into the evenings.

I'm not sure as I've never worked in your field but..., there is at least one other computer repair shop that I know of in WV11 based on the Ashmore Park shopping precinct or the "bottom shops" and there used to be one on Wood End above the shops near to The Vine pub. So I'd be concerned about market saturation.

Also based on Mcdogs comment about Internet cafe, I would seriously look at teh location in relation to the new Library when it opens...would you pay for computer/Internet access if you could go 100 yards up the road and get it for free?

Internet cafes i think are dying out as most have computers in the home now.

We have done a little research into some suppliers we are aware of and there prices at trade are lower than most and will allow us to provide a competative price to the consumer and a decent profit for ourselves. We would specialise in the Gaming PC Market as there are alot of gamers out there whom need hi spec computers. We have been advised that the old job centre has now got a tenent with the terms being agreed - so a new business there. There was also the Motor spares shop on rookery street in mind and that has also got new tenents agreed and so another new shop to open. The location we make take upon is the Planetary Road Industrial Estate and have a unit there.

Very competative market and my cousin has said he knows of some customers where he can get trade from in other areas of the county. We will see what happens and we will keep you posted of if and when a business is likely to open.
