Concerns are growing for a missing teenager from Willenhall, who hasn’t been seen since Monday. Gemma Parsons, aged 18, was last seen by her boyfriend at an address on Walsall Street at around 9pm on Monday 26 October.

Black Country man jailed for robbing two vicarages and churches

A Black Country man who repaid the generosity of two Church of England priests by robbing them has been jailed for 21 months. Christopher Phillips, 28, had been given food and support by the vicars before raiding their vicarages and churches in Wednesfield and Wolverhampton.

Wednesfield Bomber Steve Saville discovered size matters in Liverpool. Saville, the Midlands Area lightweight champion from Wolverhampton, jumped up two weight divisions last night to face red-hot prospect Frankie Gavin.

‘The Wednesfield Bomber’ Steve Saville unfortunately failed in his attempt to gain a British light-welterweight title at Wolverhamton’s Civic Hall on Friday Night.

Saville lost the fight to Syrian-born Yorkshireman Youssef Al Hamadi 96-95 on points, read the full ringside report at The Stirrer.

Reigning Midland boxing champion Steve Saville aka ‘The Wednesfield Bomber’ has pledged to repay local businesses and organisations who helped him after his personal gym was damaged by a fire earlier this month.

Steve is hoping to bring home the English title at Wolverhampton Civic Hall on September 18th as a way of repaying those who have provided him with training facilities whilst his gym is rebuilt.

He said: “The response has been fantastic. The Village Hotel on Junction 10 (Walsall) gave me a free membership so I could do my fitness work there, while Wolverhampton Boxing Club literally handed me the keys so I could do my pad-work.”

“Now I will repay them with the English title, the situation has only made me hungrier.”
