Drop in violent crime across Wolverhampton

There has been a significant reduction in violent crime across Wolverhampton recently.

Superintendent Mark Payne tweeted recently saying that there has been an 18% reduction in violent crime across Wolverhampton in the past 3 months.

We contacted the Superintendent and asked him to give us some more information on this statistic, here’s what he had to say:

“Wolverhampton Police has achieved an 18 per cent reduction in violent crime over the last three months. We are really pleased with this result, it is good news for Wolverhampton and we will continue to reduce the levels of violent crime in the city over the coming months.

“We have achieved the reduction by making sure that officers are posted in the right place and are patrolling vulnerable areas of the city. We always encourage people to have a good time but we will become a visible deterrent and take action should the need arise.

“We will continue to make sure the people of Wolverhampton are kept safe by putting officers in the right place at the right time.”

WV11’s thoughts: It’s great to see crime levels dropping, let’s hope this trend continues!
