As reported by Wednesfield North Councillor Phil Bateman, Linthouse Lane in Wednesfield will be closed to through traffic for two weeks starting on Monday 29th September 2014.
To minimise disruption and delays, these works are being carried out: Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 3:30pm. Clearly marked diversion routes will be put in place.
These works will be undertaken behalf of Wolverhampton City Council by John A. Bates (Contractors) Ltd and are expected to take two weeks to complete subject to weather conditions etc.
Residents who need to get through the resurfacing works during the day, the contractor will make every effort to accommodate requests but it may take some considerable time to move the equipment and materials. Access will be permitted as quickly as possible in cases of emergency.
Pedestrian access will be maintained but great care will be needed when passing the working area, particularly near plant and machinery.
Users of the road should also be aware that:
- The works will involve the use of hot bituminous material which may stick to footwear or tyres. Please therefore avoid walking or driving across newly laid surfaces.
- The process involves the use of heavy construction machinery. You are advised not to allow children to run or play either on or around these works.
Site staff will be on hand to assist with any difficulties during the course of the work.
