Friday afternoon saw over 200 local residents fill Wednesfield High Street outside St Thomas’ Church for the annual Christmas lights switch on.
The festivities included a choir service with performances from several local schools, a visit from Father Christmas who gave out sweets and raffle tickets and a speech from Wolverhampton’s Mayor, Councillor Surjan Singh Duhra.

WV11-born former ‘Apprentice’ runner up Ruth Badger returns to Wednesfield to switch on the Christmas lights on Friday 27th November.
The event begins at 3:30pm with the lights being switched on at around 4:30pm.

This year’s Christmas Fayre at Wednesfield Community Centre, Alfred Squire Road, takes place on Saturday 5th December 2009, from 10am to 2pm.
Father Christmas has managed to find time in his busy schedule to pop in and see local children and assorted stalls, games, raffles and refreshments will be on offer.
