Council: Have your say on Library opening hours

Library users are being asked to have their say about proposed new opening times for their local branch by completing a short survey.

Library users are being asked to have their say about proposed new opening times for their local branch by completing a short survey.

Wolverhampton City Council is consulting on plans to reduce opening hours at the city’s district libraries as it seeks to save £123 million over the next 5 years.

Fortunately, due to Wednesfield having 3 soon-to-open community hubs in Ashmore Park, Long Knowle and Wednesfield, local library provision will not be as badly affected as other areas of the City.

Whilst staffed library hours will be reduced, self-service machines in Hubs will mean that library users can still take out and return books outside of staffed hours.

Ashmore Park is set to be staffed for 24 hours per week, Wednesfield will be staffed for 39 hours per week and Long Knowle will become self-service only.

Have your say on proposed opening / staffing hours.
