Car Stolen at Knifepoint in Stubby Lane

DETECTIVES have launched an investigation after a motorist was robbed of his car by armed men in Wednesfield.

The robbers struck as the man was driving his BMW convertible along Stubby Lane at 5.35pm yesterday (Tuesday 29 September).

As he pulled away outside the J Doctor Pharmacy, the two men approached the car and dragged the driver out of the vehicle. He was assaulted, and threatened with a kitchen knife before the offenders jumped into the car and sped off in the direction of Broad Lane South.

Acting detective sergeant Craig Newey from Wednesfield CID said: “We know that a number of people were in the area at the time of the offence, some of which had left the scene prior to police arrival.

“We are urging these people to come forward as they may have vital information to assist the investigation.”

The car involved is a silver BMW convertible, with a dark blue soft top and the men have both been described as black, and in their 20s.
