Violet Bowen from Wednesfield, yesterday celebrated her 104th birthday. Born on September 21, 1907, Violet is an avid reader and has regular visits from the Home Library Service, which delivers books to readers who are unable to make their own way to their nearest library.
To celebrate her big day yesterday, senior library assistant Carol Bayley popped in to the home of their oldest service user and presented her with a birthday cake. She said: “I enjoy getting the books delivered from the library and look forward to seeing Carol. I love reading and it was a lovely surprise to have a birthday cake from the library.â€
Happy Birthday Violet!!
