With local elections only a month away Wolverhampton City Council is urging residents to take five minutes to secure their vote.
“Now’s the time to make sure you can have your say in the local elections,†said Simon Warren, Wolverhampton City Council’s Chief Executive and Electoral Registration Officer.
“Make sure you are registered to vote, especially if you have moved house this year. And if you want to vote by post or proxy, rather than by going to the polling station, then this is the time to sort that out too.
“Residents can print off the relevant form from www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/
To vote in the local elections on Thursday May 3, 2012, people need to be on the electoral register and be aged 18 or over on polling day and a British, Irish, EU or qualifying Commonwealth citizen.
A message from WV11.co.uk
Whilst WV11.co.uk remains impartial in terms of local politics, we are big believers in local people having their say on local matters and would encourage everyone who is eligible, to register to vote and indeed cast their vote during the local elections on 3rd May.
