Video: Wolverhampton bids for Portas Pilot money

Wolverhampton is bidding to become a “Portas Pilot” and receive funding worth up to £100,000.

Wolverhampton is bidding to become a “Portas Pilot”. Towns and cities across England are being handed the chance to breathe new life into their ailing high streets through a competition launched by retail guru Mary Portas and Local Government Minister Grant Shapps.

The 12 winners will become Portas Pilots and receive funding worth up to £100,000 along with expert advice from Mary Portas herself.

As part of the bid, applicants were asked to put together a short film explaining why they wanted to become a Portas Pilot – Wolverhampton City Council have submitted the video on this page and will hopefully be successfully in bringing much needed funding and expertise into the city.
