Flying the flag for Willenhall

June 14th is Black Country Day and Willenhall would like to play its own part, by creating a flag for their home town.

Just across the border in WV12 and 13 there is another hyperlocal website a little like ours flying the flag for Willenhall – WillenhallAyWe.co.uk – And this year they want to literally do just that and FLY A FLAG FOR WILLENHALL

On July 14th The Black Country will celebrate Black Country Day and  Willenhall would like to play its own part, by creating a flag for their home town.

Competition

Willnehall Ay We  are reaching out to local artists and groups to submit their design for a flag for Willenhall

They want a design that will be a public symbol for all to use that will:

  • Raise recognition and awareness of the town nation-wide
  • Express the pride in our local community
  • Celebrate the heritage and culture of our corner of the country

The competition will close on 21st March

Judging

Judges will select a short list of finalists that will be put to a public vote open from  7th to 26th April.
Willenhall Ay We will be attending a number of events where you can cast your vote so drop by to see them on the stall at:
  • 12th April Pool Hayes Community Association – Easter Market
  • 14th April Willenhall Chart Centre Garden
 The winners design will be registered with the Parliamentary Flags & Heraldry Committee as the official Willenhall Flag and unveiled at the Willenhall carnival on 14th June 2014.
