Waddensbrook Lane WILL Reopen Next Week

Waddensbro0k Lane to reopen and Broad Lane South closure scheduled.

Since our article the other day with regards to the Severn Trent Water works and the closure of Waddensbrook Lane, Steve Coventry from Amey – the company responsible for the works has been keeping us informed of progress and has helpfully been supplying us with updates.

Today he has been in touch with the following

Update 1 – Waddensbrook Lane to reopen

This week we are pleased to announce that we will have completed all the new pipework and reinstatements on Silverton Way by the end of the weekend,  by Tuesday / Wednesday next week we will have the final connection made on Waddensbrook Lane and this will all be reinstated and site cleared and road closure lifted.

Update 2 – Broad Lane South closure scheduled

Next week we will be starting on Broad Lane South from 158 to 176 in a cul de sac off the main road near to The Public House with the use of signing and guarding only. Works will then commence on Broad Lane South with the use of a  road closure from middle of next week between the Canal Bridge and Stubby Lane junction for approx 3 – 4 weeks.
We apologise for any disruption or inconvenience we have caused during our essential works and thank you for your continued support and understanding of our works.

Thank you Steve for the updates!

Good morning all,

Here is our latest update for our works on Waddens Brook Lane. Thank you again for sharing my messages Steph.

We are pleased to announce that Waddensbrook is now fully open the road closure was removed late afternoon yesterday.
Due to the Easter holiday this weekend, we have decided to delay our works on Broad Lane South to allow full access over this holiday period.
We would like to thank road users and those of you that have been directly affected by our works for your continued patience throughout.

Works will recommence on Broad Lane South from Tuesday 7th April with the use of a one way system which means traffic can travel along Broad Lane heading towards Waddensbrook Lane, however there will be no entry signs at the junction from Stubby Lane for traffic travelling from Waddensbrook through to Lichfield Rd for the duration of 3 – 4 weeks whilst we complete our essential works to renew the water pipes in your area.

Surely it would have been much better to do the work over Easter when there was no traffic or am I missing something?
