Local Award for Contribution to the Community

Local man wins Contribution to the Community award at Signal 107’s Inspiration Awards.

Last weekend was Signal 107’s Inspiration Awards and it is with great pleasure that we can tell you that Wednesfield’s own Simon Hamilton, pictured on the left above, won the award for Contribution to the Community  – and in our opinion it couldn’t be more deserved.

Simon is our community support officer working with the LNP and never fails to go above and beyond in his role.

If you’ve ever attended a community fun day, Christmas lights switch on, fundraising event locally you will have  come into contact with something or someone Simon has helped to arrange. He supports all the community first panels across Wednesfield, Fallings Park, Low Hill and Heath Town and in addition to this Simon is responsible for opening and closing all the parks across the city.

As well as all this as his day job in his spare time Simon is a scout leader, he is governor at three schools, supports his local neighbourhood watch and manages a community football team!!

We don’t know where he finds the hours in the day to keep all this up, but we’re very grateful that he does. Simon is a credit to the area and his award has been a long time coming and very much deserved.

Well done Simon and THANK YOU for all your hard work!
