Wednesfield to enter Heart of England in Bloom 2016

Wednesfield is set to take part in the Heart Of England In Bloom competition for 2016.

Wednesfield has thrown it’s collective hat into the ring and entered the Heart Of England In Bloom competition for 2016.

The Wednesfield In Bloom team, made up of local volunteers led by community group Hands On Wednesfield, have been working hard to identify areas and projects that can benefit from improvement.

Judges will visit Wednesfield on Friday 1st July to see how the village, park, canal and area in general have been improved by those that live and work here.

A route has been proposed, which will allow the judges to see Wednesfield at its colourful best, taking in the Bentley Bridge Art Trail, the canal from the Nickleodeon right through to Pinfold Bridge, Memory Lane cemetery, the park and the High Street.

Organisers would like every shop, pub, office, market stall and organization along the route to contribute something to show that we are a united community striving to improve the look and feel of our environment.

Photos will be taken of the area to see how it looks now and then taking pictures on the day to capture the efforts that have been made by everyone involved and there will be a large feature in the August/September issue of the Wednesfield Magazine and here on WV11.co.uk, to reveal to the wider audience what was involved and how Wednesfield did on the day.

The WiB group is looking for more people to get involved, so if you’d like to know more, please attend the next Wednesfield In Bloom meeting at the St Thomas Centre on Thursday 12th May at 7pm and visit the group’s Facebook page for updates.

If you can’t make it, but want to get in touch, please phone Simon Archer on 07534 603662 or email simon.archer@handsonwednesfield.org.
